After Scary Bigfoot Encounter Man Invents Fire Ball Gun

On the range with a practice bigfoot.

Fireball Inventor Jim Lebus who is also a self-described survivalist

"3 second delay?...Do you know how much ground a sasquatch can cover in 3 seconds?!" --Garrett Lisi, co-host of Invention USA, reacting to the time delay of fireball gun

A new TV Show on the History Channel called Invention USA follows Reichart Von Wolfsheild and Garrett Lisi as they go in search of the next breakthrough invention. Reichart and Garrett put prototypes to the test and give a tough, no-nonsense evaluation of each invention's potential.

Garrett Lisi and Reichart Von Wolfsheild co-hosts of Invention USA

In the premier episode they are contacted by Jim Lebus who invented a fireball Gun, more specifically incendiary paintballs, to protect himself after an encounter he describes below.

"Its a deterrent for a situation out in the woods. A couple of years ago I was in northern California... I was attacked by an animal and I was in my tent. I see this shadow go past the moon. So this tells me this thing is, like, 8 feet tall. And whatever it was, was pushing me into the ground...I'm assuming it was a Bigfoot. I had a .38 with me, but you can't just start popping off rounds. If you gonna cap Bigfoot your just gonna piss it off"

Of course, the first question he was asked by the hosts was a shot to his credibility. Jim was questioned if he was drinking that night, he quickly replied, "No, I was stone sober."

He also was asked if he had ruled out a bear, and Jim said he had not, "...but the only thing it took was the spices."

Below is a video Jim has uploaded to YouTube.

Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide on the History Channel

**Newer Update (2/1/11)** Finally got an actual image from the show (see below). SRC: Seattle Times
Plus read Loren Colemans contribution to the show at Cryptomundo.

**UPDATE (1/31/11)** One of our astute fans provided us with a link with more info. Experts on the show will include: Drs. Jack Rink, Anna Nekaris, William Sellars, Jeff Meldrum, and Ian Redmond. Click on the ISU link below to get more info.

This is what we do know. It will be on the History Channel on Feb 2nd, They shot most of the footage in a Canadian town named Harrington, and they are using a scene from Jack Links Jerky to promote the show.

There is the official description as well:
A team of top scientists come together with one goal to create the definitive guide to Bigfoot. Does the creature exist? And if it does where is it? And how can it survive without being detected? Using a new interactive map the team has plotted more than 10,000 Bigfoot type sightings from around the world. These sightings are of an unidentified creature which walks on two legs and is covered in a thick layer of hair. Many of theses sightings date back over 100 years. With their expert knowledge of the natural world they are able to dismiss nearly 90% of the sightings, but what emerges is a series of global hotspots that cannot be explained which indicate that something is out there. The team examines these global hotspots and searches for explanations including new theories that suggest we may have been looking for the wrong creature all along?

In Ontario, Quebec, a local paper asked the Production manager about the show.

The documentary will focus on prehistoric times and will include discussion about "mythical" creatures such as the Sasquatch and Yeti.

According to Helen Conlan, production manager for the United Kingdom-based company, Dangerous, the documentary will not make light of the myths and legends that surround the creature, but will instead explore the possibility that such creatures might actually exist.

"We brought numerous experts from the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom together to research this," she stated in an e-mail interview. "Our goal is to retrace the steps of early man and shed some light of the legends that surround Bigfoot and the Yeti. I think the end result will be a very interesting and enlightening film."

Conlan said the show will be called Bigfoot: The Definitive Guide and was co-produced with Handel Productions, one of Canada's leading producers of factual television and documentary programs.

She said numerous experts on the subject were interviewed in an attempt to find a scientific base for Bigfoot.

We can't wait to see what will make this show different than the other shows out there.

Lively Bigfoot Conversation at The HistoryChannel.com

Some things are too good not to share. The screen names are real, the icons are made-up to protect the anonymous commentors at the history channel.

MR FLABBY: I just had to point this out.The bigfoot phenomenom is a complicated one. There are alot of things you believers don't understand. You keep hollering about bigfoot couldn't be paranormal because there is evidence that it a real animal, such as footprints, blood, and so-called hair. You don't realize that a demon can leave tracks, make noises, etc.I've never heard of blood supposedly being bigfoot's.If they found any blood I guarantee you that it will turn out belonging to some other animal.

Read the following information and keep it in mind because it's the truth.

"Spiritual creatures(demons)can leave physical traces of hairs from living known and even extinct animals, and they can leave hairs from genetically altered species. There will never be found a true bigfoot hair,or bone, since they are not truly flesh and blood creatures. They are spiritual beings, and do not even conform to the laws of physics.'

JJJONES: Where is this from? Oh, and it doesn't say anything about footprints.

RaZr Blayde: flabby the idea that a demon carries around hairs that he must have made himself is absurd.

King Ramses II: Oh look, a demon left me a Velociraptor feather...

Gandaf12: I have seen bigfoot in washington state and trust me its no demon its just huge id say bout 8ft tall 500-700 pounds easily with dark brown hair and is really shy cause when i got near it and i was bout say 20ft away it looks at me gets up and just walk away

In case you wanted us to weigh in, at BLC, we like the idea that there is evidence to discover, evaluate, and consider when it comes to Bigfoot. We find Mr Flabby's version of Bigfoot similar to what Lucy was to Charlie Brown. How disappointing it would be for Lucy/Bigfoot to plant evidence for us to find, only to take it away because it was never "real".

History of the Blobsquatch; Bigfoot's Blurry Cousin

Blobsquatch is a term Bigfooters use to declare an alleged Bigfoot photo too blurry to determine anything. Yes, we Bigfooters can be skeptical, and often are.

The Blobsquatch has sometimes done more harm than good to Bigfoot research. Many "outsiders" may not know that we scrutinize photos carefully. Every picture is peer reviewed at conferences, forums and symposiums.

So here's a light hearted effort to show we know the differences between a Blobsquatch and a Bigfoot. So I will not be talking about Bigfoot today. Today, we will expose the not-so-real history of the Blobsquatch.

I can only imagine how well the first depictions of sasquatch went over with the rest of the early humans. Its hard enough to render buffalo on a cave wall, but an upright bipedal hominid that is hairier than you?

Pareidolia is a psychological phenomenon involving a vague and random image being perceived as significant. Common examples include seeing Jesus Christ in a tortilla or Mother Teresa Muffin. Some would say people see these things because they are disparate to see these things. I would love to see Bigfoot, but I doubt I will ever see him due to Pareidolia.

Here's a more "scientific" take; the subconscious. Freudian fill-in-the-blanks. The Rorschach inkblot test is a psychological test in which subjects' perceptions of inkblots are recorded and then analyzed using psychological interpretation. This could be a source for Blobsquatch.

Finally, below are some great tips to photograph your own Blobsquatch. Believe it or not there can be a real technique to it, and many common aspects to all Blobsquatch photos.

All kidding aside, we know the best evidence of Bigfoot would be to capture one (preferably alive, but that's a debate for another post). Although we would love to have a clean clear photo of Bigfoot, we consider other forms of evidence more significant. These other forms of evidence include, tracks, casts, scat, personal encounters, and even indegenous oral myths. We rely on all of these things, and more, to one day discover and find that elusive beast we know as Bigfoot.

Holy Grail of Paleontology: The Link

On the heels of yesterday's post we now have even more info on Ida. Ida (pronounced ee-da) is the oldest and most complete fossilized skeleton of a human/primate ancestor. It is estimated Ida is 47 million years old. By comparison, Lucy, the Australopithecus afarensis and former most complete specimen is only 3 million years old.

One thing is certain If you are a true bigfooter you must watch the History Channel special this Monday the 25th. We encourage to go straight to the History Channel website and check out all the video they have for free on Ida. What are you still doing here?! Check out those Videos!

Then come back here and thank us!!
