Finding Bigfooot Returns with Bobcat Goldthwait and a Bonus "Behind the Scenes" Footage

Animal Planet Returns to New Jersey
There are three things to watch out for in tonight's two-hour Finding Bigfoot episode; one, the team returns to New Jersey with Director/Comedian Bobcat Goldthwait, two, a bonus 30 minutes of behind the scenes footage, and three, if the teasers are to be believed, Bobo remarks on a a broad daylight sighting of a Sasquatch.

In the press release tonight's episode title was "Bobo, Bobcat and the Big Red Eye", it is listed on programming guides as "Squatchers Take New Jersey"

This is a return to New Jersey her's the details from Animal Planet's Presser:
New Jersey: The team heads back to the Garden State to investigate "Big Red Eye," a nickname for sasquatches in New Jersey. Many are surprised by the large amount of sasquatch activity that occurs in this Mid-Atlantic state, and this time, they have a secret weapon: bigfoot enthusiast and legendary comedian Bobcat Goldthwait (Police Academy Franchise, Scrooged). The team hopes that Bobcat's iconic yell can help attract "Big Red Eye."
Bobcat Goldthwait is also the Director/Writer of found footage Bigfoot movie Willow Creek. Fans, you know we have been hinting at Bobcat's Bigfoot movie for years. In our post "Bobcat Goldthwait Spends 3 Days Looking for Bigfoot" we combined snippet of interviews dating back to 2009 for clues.  Then we posted, "Bobcat Goldthwait Completes His Faith, Religion, Bigfoot Movie" to alert you when it was complete. Click the following link to get our complete Bobcat Goldthwait Bigfoot Coverage.

If your like us, you are also excited about the 30 minutes of bonus footage! According to Matt Moneymaker, "We did a special behind-the-scenes half-hour spot for the Sussex County episode and Bobcat Goldthwait's movie,"

According to Moneymaker, there are also rumors that Animal Planet acquired rights to Willow Creek and may broadcast the hour-long movie.

We are looking forward to the return to New Jersey, Bobcat Goldthwaits appearance and whatever Bobo see in the promo for the show.

Tune in tonight at 9PM Eastern and Pacific and at 8PM central.

HopsSquatch Presents Ape Canyon Found and Cliff Barackman's Band!

recreation of the Ape canyon Cabin
"...when you have the site down. It's just the classic DUH!. Because all the clues start cascading in to place and it all makes sense." --Marc Myrsell

HopsSquatch will finish off the year with a 90-year old Sasquatch mystery and Cliff Barackman's musical performance.

DATE: Sunday, November 16th
TIME: 12:30-4:00
WHERE: NW Quimby Lucky Lab  | 1945 NW Quimby St. Portland, OR 97209
WHO: Marc Myrsell and Cliff Barackman

After almost a century of mystery, the location of scariest Bigfoot encounter in the cannon of Sasquatch history has been rediscovered. How it was found and what is still left at the mining claim that was attacked by "apemen" is coming to Portland's HopsSquatch.

For the better part of the last five years Marc Myrsell and his team of investigators have been trying to find the cabin where four miners held their ground against an attack of "ape men" and "mountain devils". Known to most bigfooters as the Ape Canyon Incident, it was news that spread like wildfire once it was published on July 16, 1924 in an issue of The Oregonian. Fred Beck, one of the miners, said the attack was precipitated by the killing of one of the Apemen earlier in the day.

Much to his mother's chagrin, Marc has had a penchant for the unexplained; for the extra natural. A small number of years ago, Marc instigated a research project to explore the story of the 1924 Ape Canyon attack, as if it had never been publicized, as if nobody had never heard about it, starting from scratch. What came of it was a fresh approach to the story, with a story full of undisclosed details, nuance, and a punchline or two at the end; most importantly, the re-discovery of the site itself in 2013, the re-discovery of the site of the most infamous Sasquatch attack in modern history.

Marc is a life-long land surveyor in Oregon and Washington, having been trained in the profession by his father. Currently, being virtually unemployable, he runs the family land surveying business along with operating Washington State's historic Westport Aquarium in Westport, Washington.

Xray Dispersion Analysis  will determine the date of the spoon

Through perseverance Marc Myrsell had had to glean from several sources and has enough evidence that he may have found the site, including a log that was part of the 20 ft side of the canyon.

Marc Myrsell invited Cliff Barackman from Finding Bigfoot to the site
Cliff Barackman will also attend at this end-of-year hopsSquatch extravaganza by playing live music with his three-piece band.

Houston Press: Ken Gerhard is Skeptical but Open Minded about Bigfoot

"Cryptozoology is based on scientific process...Even though it's a discipline that deals with bizarre possibilities, it was designed by zoologists." --Ken Gerhard

In an in-depth article by the Houston Press, journalist Jef Rouner gives us four pages of great reporting. Below are a few of the highlights from the article.

KEN'S THOUGHTS ABOUT BIGFOOT ON TV
Modern-day sasquatchploitation is very different from things like Leonard Nimoy's In Search of..., the show that first inspired Gerhard as a child. Finding Bigfoot, now in its fifth season, is one of Animal Planet's most watched shows despite criticism by researchers that the program is scripted and overly sensational. Gerhard learned early on to be very careful with which invitations he accepts to appear on television to discuss Bigfoot, lest he end up appearing different from the way he intended once the footage is edited.

"The field keeps getting black eyes from fictional stories portrayed as fact," he says. "Lots of very terrible shows full of actors running around pretending to hunt monsters. It's train-wreck television."
KEN's APPROACH AND PROCESS
Gerhard's approach is different. He moved to San Antonio eight years ago to be closer to the majority of Bigfoot sightings in Texas and maximize the number he could investigate in the field. His apartment is covered in maps on which he marks with push pins each sighting or report he finds out about. He looks for clusters from multiple sources, indicators that something has enough of a presence that it's unlikely to be the result of widespread misidentification or hoaxsters. The best candidates feature nearly identical stories and descriptions from unrelated individuals.

"I'll give Ken credit for actually going out into the field," says Chester Moore, a wildlife journalist who mentored Gerhard when he started out and helped him prepare for a trip to Belize to investigate Bigfoot sightings there. "There aren't a lot of guys who do actually get out and dig around, and that is what matters. He definitely has a passion for it. Ken is aggressive in his pursuit."

KEN'S UPCOMING INVESTIGATION
There's a Bigfoot sighting right here in Houston that he's been meaning to come look at in person. A couple jogging in Terry Hershey Park who had a penchant for venturing off the path into wooded areas had a frightful encounter three years ago.

"It happened on Sunday, April 2, 2011," says Gerhard. "JM (Not his real name) and his girlfriend were near a creek and spotted a caved-in area on the shore. At first they thought it was a very tall homeless man, but he didn't look quite normal. Somehow inhuman. He had a hairy face and large black eyes. Startled by the couple, it ran. A few days later, they returned to find some hair, which I have not had for analysis yet, and a half-eaten fish. It was tall and thin, and there was a foul smell around the area." The couple also described low-pitched grunts and moans.

Best Suggestions for Having a Bigfoot Encounter--If That's What You Really Want.

Ron Morehead is best known for his Bigfoot Recordings
Ron Morehead has had great success with encountering Sasquatches. His Bigfoot recordings a/k/a Sierra Sounds have been independently scrutinized by several professionals from varying disciplines.

Dr R. Lynn Kirlin, a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the University of Wyoming presented that the formant frequencies found were clearly lower than for human data, and their distribution does not indicate that they were a product of human vocalizations and/or tape speed alteration.

Nancy Logan  is a human sound expert in the State of California. In her opinion the vocalizations have a pitch range that is considerably more flexible than that of humans. They go much lower and much higher.

And more recently Scott Nelson, a Crypto-Linguist, with over 30 years’ experience concludes: “We have verified that these creatures use language, by the human definition of it.

Ron Morehead has recently posted a YouTube video (Watch Below) on his recommendations for a Sasquatch campsite based on his experience. We are pretty confident that Ron was doing something right in the Sierra's

Anti-Conspiracy Website Specifically Attacks Bigfootology's Rhettman A. Mullis Jr. (and Bigfoooters in General)

Rhettman A. Mullis Jr., Founder of Bigfootology
"It is impossible to estimate how many of these creatures live in the world, but I would say that just in North America there may be about 100,000 of them"-- Rhettman A. Mullis Jr. of Bigfootology

The quote above is a misquote. The original quote from a Union-Bulletin was "'a very rough estimation' is there are 100,000 Bigfoots in North America." Splitting Hairs? Maybe, but we prefer skeptics of Bigfoot research to be a little more accurate in their reporting--especially if they are critical of the endeavor of Bigfoot research. There's plenty room for healthy criticism regarding our methods and data collection, but the endeavor itself is a prerogative that only those that are searching can judge.

The website responsible for the misquote is not surprisingly an anti-conspiracy website with a clever name, "TheLizardPeople.com" Below is a sample of the rant displayed on ther post titled, "100,000 Bigfoot in North America Says Bigfootology Researcher". Warning, there is a lot of language that may not be suitable for younger readers. We have replaced some of the harsher words with  [expletive] as a place holder. You are welcome to get the un-edited version after the excerpt.

Rhettman is beginning to sound less like a scientist and more like that guy in the gym spitting all sorts of bro science.

Let's put this into perspective shall we.

Here is the World Wildlife Funds list of endangered animals. WWF lists critters such as the Amur Leopard that we know virtually everything about and states that there are only around 30 individuals left on the friggin planet!
And captain bullshit is telling us he thinks there are 100,000 Bigfoot in North America but not one scientist has validated that [expletive]  claim!

What about the 4,848 Black Rhino's left wandering around that we know about or the 7,300 Sumatran Orangutans and the measly 35 Javan Rhino's that are critically [expletive]  endangered!

We know everything there is to know about these species of animal down to the very [expletive]  limited number of the poor bastards left on the planet before their species cease to [expletive]  exist and Lord butt plug insults the collective intelligence of science by telling us 100,000 hairy Sasquatch are roaming around aimlessly and remain undetected... what are they, [expletive]  SAS commandos or something? Have they got like an endless supply of camouflage suites or have they developed Predator style stealth invisibility cloaks?

We can detect a Jihadi terrorist scratching his ass from a distance of 4500 meters before he has an Apache Helicopter doing the scratching for him but we can't scientifically validate the existence of an upright ape walking around the woods playing hide and seek.

Watch Bigfoot Hunter "Granpa" Larry Davis Talk About His 5 Encounters

He goes by Granpa Larry Davis and has seen Bigfoot five times
"Now I've taken 3 reports already this year of bigfoot activity. Around Here? Twelve reports in Wythe County. I'm getting 'em out of Smith County." --Granpa Larry Davis.

Local Virginia news station WDBJ7 catchhes up with "Granpa" Larry Davis a self-described bigfoot hunter and has been researching bigfooot reports for years watch the video below as he describes hi techniques, Below the video is the full transcript provided by the newsattion followed by a link to the original story,

video platformvideo managementvideo solutionsvideo player

New River Valley reporter Orlando Salinas drove to Wythe County and met up with this real Bigfoot hunter. (grandpa larry davis, bigfoot hunter) ''You're always looking for a bigfoot story? I'm always looking for a bigfoot story!" He goes by "Grandpa'' Larry Davis and to hear him tell it, there are Bigfoot creatures all around Southwest Virginia. (grandpa larry davis, bigfoot hunter)

"Now I've taken 3 reports already this year of bigfoot activity. Around where? Twelve reports in Wythe County. I'm getting 'em out of Smith County."

People call him crazy, but "Grandpa' says lots of regular folks do believe, but are afraid. (grandpa larry davis again) "Ah, they're scared o being ridiculed and called liars." It was this iconic video shot in 1967, that hooked Davis on Bigfoot and he never let go.

Through a public address speaker mounted on his Bigfoot Hunter van, Larry mimics what he calls a bigfoot scream "You might hear call back!" That didn't happen, but a few fans did pull up. (larry stiltner, wythe county) "My wife and I pulled up here, that's the first thing she said "that's the Bigfoot hunter, then we saw the van."

Davis says he had artifacts and evidence of Bigfoot encounters. "And I actually brought 'em with me in case you'd like to look at 'em. You know I want to look at 'em. Haha. I haven't released them to the press." "You're lucky, I'll show 'em to you!'

For nearly 4 decades, Davis has been hunting Bigfoot and says he's seen the mighty Sasquatch five times. He's put the good stuff on a poster board. "And this fingerprint you can see the heal comes down here like this."

People may ridicule Davis, but it's refreshing to hear someone who truly believes in something and It's not politics, it's not religion. It's Bigfoot with big questions. (amy wickham, big walker lookout) "There are those tha do and those that don't. Of course there are some like me, like i told you earlier, I'm kind of in the middle. i haven't been convinced one way or the other."

Finding Bigfoot Returns with a 2-Hour Alaskan Special:In Search of a 12ft Sasquatch

Finding Bigfoot returns this November with 8 new episodes

On Sunday, November 9, at 9 PM (ET/PT), FINDING BIGFOOT returns with a special two-hour episode that takes Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman and skeptical scientist Ranae Holland off to the wilds of Alaska. Reports of colossal-sized sasquatches draw the team into a vast wilderness in America's largest state. Eyewitnesses claim to have seen a bigfoot taller than 12 feet, one of the largest reported sasquatch ever.

Other destinations in the action-packed season include the following:

United Kingdom: Recent reports of bigfoot sightings in the British Isles draw the team to the UK for the first time, and they can't resist checking out another of the world's enigmas, Loch Ness. In between tracking bigfoots, the team heads to the highlands of Scotland to see if it can uncover the truth about 'Nessie.'

Tennessee: This southern state has a rich history of sasquatch sightings and government officials who are bigfoot believers. So it's no surprise that the team from FINDING BIGFOOT heads to this state to attempt to set a record for most people participating in a search for sasquatch. With a huge turnout expected, can the added manpower help the team close in on the elusive creature?
Additionally, the team returns to Idaho, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Ohio.

FINDING BIGFOOT is produced for Animal Planet by Ping Pong Productions. Keith Hoffman is the executive producer, and Hilary Tholen is associate producer for Animal Planet. Brad Kuhlman and Casey Brumels are the executive producers, and Chad Hammel is the co-executive producer for Ping Pong Productions.

USA Today Names the Top 8 States for Bigfoot "Hunting" and Forgets Oregon

Oregon is Missing from USA Today's top 8 Bigfoot States
In an article promoting an upcoming Destination America special titled "Killing Bigfoot" USA Today decides to ask the Gulf Coast Bigfoot Research Organization (GCBRO) for the top states for Bigfooting. Oregon is noticeably absent.

Northwest Louisiana

The Toledo Bend Reservoir, on the Sabine River between Texas and Louisiana near the city of Natchitoches, is a prime area for Bigfoot sightings, sometimes generating two reports a month. The GCBRO has seen "packs" of Bigfoot here, roaming across four or five parishes.

East Texas

Landsdale reports there is heavy activity continuing along the Sabine River through Greg, Harrison and Panola counties in Texas. Five months ago a GCBRO group saw a total of five young creatures scampering around the area in a single day.

Southeast Oklahoma

The Kiamichi Mountains are a hotbed of Bigfoot activity. A GCBRO member that owns 40 acres in the area claims to routinely get Bigfoot visits around his cabin. A word of caution: The creatures in this area are said to be especially aggressive.

Mississippi

The GCBRO says they receive anywhere from three to five reports a week from up and down the river and its tributaries in the Mississippi Wildlife Management Area (WMA). Other times, an entire month will pass without a report. Based on this and other evidence, the group has concluded that Bigfoot individuals and families of up to 10 creatures are probably hunting in geographic loops on a roughly 72 hour cycle, originating from their bedding area, moving to various hunting grounds, and back to their bedding area. As with much of the South, it's theorized that Bigfoot prefers this area for the climate and abundance of vegetation and animals.

Arkansas

This area is best known for the Fouke Monster, aka "Southern Sasquatch," near the town of Fouke in Miller County, Arkansas. A book and a number of films have been made, based on this legend. Fouke was the first known variety of sasquatch, with only three toes (Bigfoot species can have three, four or five toes), and are aggressive, prone to killing pigs and terrorizing people. Landsdale believes the three toed creatures may be inbreeding, making them more aggressive than their four and five-toed cousins.

Georgia

The Appalachian Mountains in the northwest part of the state, particularly near the Benton-MacKaye Trail off Highway 515, are said to get sightings four or five times a month. Though this is one of the hottest parts of Georgia, caves provide refuge from the heat and there is abundant vegetation and animals.

Washington State

The west coastal areas of Washington State have several reports of sightings, including Kitsap County, which has had quite a few sightings in 2014 alone, as well as Bumping Lake and Skooum Valley. The coast is said to be preferred by these sasquatch for the climate, as it's never really hot or cold, and there's plenty of available vegetation and meat. Again, the sasquatch in this region tend to be less aggressive, more likely to be loners, and stay away from people.

Northern California

Bluff Creek is famous for the hotly debated Patterson film, showing footage of "Patty" in 1967. Since then, male tracks have been found in the snow in the area. Caves provide protection from the elements between hunts, which persist all winter, as Sasquatch don't hibernate.

Can Bigfoot be Explained in 60 Seconds?

YouTube Channel ScienceN60 tackles Bigfoot
"The fossil record does include an animal that looked similar to this existing 1 – 9 million years ago called gigantopithecus, in what is now Southeast Asia." --Science in 60 seconds

Below is a 60 second overview of the Bigfoot basics followed by bullet points from the video. Enjoy!

The video above was published on Oct 20, 2014
The science Bigfoot, Yeti & Sasquatch’s existence explained. How they evolved, their closest relatives the orangutan & gigantopithecus, and why no proof, definitive sightings or Bones & remains have been found.

This is the science of Bigfoot, Sasquatch & Yeti in 60 seconds.

- Bigfoot, Sasquatch and Yeti are some of the biggest animal curiosities in the world. Sightings & folklore in the west date back to at least Native American tribes.

- Science has an explanation for what these creatures are and why they or their remains are so elusive, if they do exist.

- They often described as stands upright & walking with their knees bent, covered in reddish brown fur, with a face that looks like a cross between a gorilla & a human.

- In most accounts their shy, docile, and curious

- The fossil record does include an animal that looked similar to this existing 1 – 9 million years ago called gigantopithecus, in what is now Southeast Asia.

- Orangutans the only great apes in Asia, evolved from gigantopithecus and are very different from most primates, because they prefer solitude.

- They also share Bigfoots’ reddish fur, vocalizations, and curiosity of people

- Orangutans are widely disbursed & rarely come across others in the wild, except to reproduce.

- If Bigfoot & Yeti exists they’re probably also an evolutionary relative of the gigantopithecus.

- Bigfoot could have come across the land bridge from Asia just like the Native Americans & Yeti is close to the same region gigantopithecus inhabited.

- Large territories and higher intelligence may have kept them unseen.

- This, fairly long life spans like other apes, and a bone decay rate as fast as 5-10 years in the Pacific Northwest,

- Could explain why no Bigfoot remains have been discovered. And that’s scienceN60

Derek Randles Gets Press for Olympic Project and Reveals Sasquatch Insights

Derek Randles (center) at the March 2013 Olympic Project Expedition

“The patterns start to paint a picture of what that animal is doing" -- Derek Randles, founder of the Olympic Project

The Peninsula Daily News picked up on the Bigfoot research and documentation happening in the Olympic Peninsula by Derek Randles and his Olympic Project Team. Among the highlights of the article are some of the insights and suggestions of bigfoot behavior based on the data gathered so far. In the following excerpt read what Derek Randles has to say about Bigfoot behavior.
“We are sticklers for documentation,” Randles says.

“What we are trying to do is learn everything we can so when/if [scientifically-accepted] species verification happens, we have a large volume of study to hand over.”

For the Olympic Project team, Bigfoot is a somewhat predictable creature.
“The patterns start to paint a picture of what that animal is doing,” Randles says.

For instance, he explains, Bigfoot tracks in the Olympics show that they hang around elk calving areas during the calving season.

Randles says the mystery creatures also study them.

“We are some of Sasquatch’s best entertainment,” he says..

“Some of the best sightings are when we catch them watching us.”

But sometimes, Randles adds, Sasquatches don’t like humans in their space.
“It is very intimidating how much noise they can make without exposing themselves,” he says.

He says they use a variety of vocalizations, pounding sounds and other noises.

KY News Station Asks University Teacher if Bigfoot is Real

Mason Smith is an English Teacher at East Kentucky University
"Out of 50 people [asked by Finding Bigfoot], 25 of those had eyewitness testimony that they'd seen something bi-pedal, hairy out in the woods. Now I think that's interesting" --Mason Smith

In a weekly series titled "Mystery Monday," Lexington, Kentucky news station asks a local EKU teacher about his newfound interest in Bigfoot. Read an excerpt below.

When it comes to the legend of Sasquatch, an EKU English teacher doesn't know what to believe.

However, Mason Smith does think it's fascinating to consider the question "What if?"

"We live in a complex universe that has things that haven't been discovered," says Smith.

Smith's interest peaked a couple of years ago when the cast of Animal Planet's "Finding Bigfoot" came to Renfro Valley and asked participants if they had ever seen or heard Bigfoot.

"Out of 50 people, 25 of those had eyewitness testimony that they'd seen something bi-pedal, hairy out in the woods. Now I think that's interesting," says Smith.

Smith did not raise his hand in that meeting. He's got no Bigfoot stories to speak of. But he is fascinated with the idea of the creature.
Familiar faces to TV fans also think there are bigfoot in Kentucky

Celebrate P/G Film Day (Oct 20th) With Bob Gimlin and Bill Munns

Bob Gimlin was there when the most famous Bigfoot footage was
filmed and Bill Munns  has done the most signifivcant analysis of it.

Ahhh to be a fly on the wall when two of  the biggest contributors to Bigfoot research discuss the most iconic footage of Bigfoot. The video below is an candid spontaneous conversation between Bob Gimlin and Bill Munns recapping the events that must have happened when Roger Patterson filmed.

The most exciting thing about the video, in our opinion, is that both garner new insights from each other while discussing Bill Munns 3d representation of the events.

Ron Morehead Shapes Quantum Theory of Bigfoot with Biblical References

Ron Morehead suggests alien bigfoot DNA intervention referenced in the Bible
"So, should we be afraid…just what could Bigfoot be anyway? The remains of giants have been found on earth before." --Ron Morehead

Ron Morehead is renowned for his bigfoot recordings. His recordings have been dissected by skeptical journalist Al Berry, electrical engineer Dr. R. Lynn Kirlin and most recently by Navy crypto-linguist R. Scott Nelson.

Mr. Morehead continues to make bigfoot news with his newest contribute to sasquatch research. He is shaping his quantum theory of bigfoot at his new bigfoot research website. His newest post aptly titled Quantum Bigfoot Theory stitches quantum theory, biblical references, familiar to Ancient Alien fans, into a tapestry tailored specifically for unveiling his own insights into Bigfoot.

In the excerpt below Mr. Morehead writes about the possibility of the biblical twins Esau and Jacob being bi-paternal (one mom, two "dads"):
We all know of the different accounts of the great flood in ancient texts. According to some of these texts it was brought about because of the infection of the human genome (man, God’s special creation) by aliens, e.g. the Nephilim, half alien-half human. That being said let’s move forward to Isaac’s wife, Rebekah, and the twins she gave birth to. The first boy was Esau, who was red and hairy (Gen 26: 24-26). The second was Jacob, who was loved, but Esau was hated (Romans 9: 13)…why? As the story goes, Esau gave up his birthright to Jacob, eventually moved, and became the patriarch of a race of bearded, red-haired, nomadic people. Because of the ‘red’ they were called the Edomites (Edom meaning red). Recently one of my colleagues pointed out that the Edomites were depicted in Michelangelo’s painting of The Last Judgment, in 1541. At the bottom of the painting you’ll see the hairy Edomites in a cave…hmm, any connection?

Now the big question; can two eggs in a woman’s uterus be fertilized by two different males at the same time? The answer is ‘Yes’. One in 400 sets of fraternal human twins is bipaternal (www.babycenter.com). So my theory, which is shared by a few others, is that an alien (Lucifer), trying to corrupt the human genome again, fertilized one of Rebekah’s eggs and Esau was the result. This would have created a human hybrid and Bigfoot just might be a remnant of that.
