Watch Video of Bigfoot Walking Past Waterfall in Indonesia

Frame of Bigfoot Walking in front of Waterfall in Indonesia

"The Sasquatch can be seen roaming through the countryside against a back drop of exotic mountains." --YouTube Description

This 28-second video has been uploaded to Youtube over a half a dozen times. None of the channels that have the video available for seem to be from an individual. It seems to only be distributed by other media outlets. Most of the videos have been uploaded with the same description:
Footage shows strange 'Bigfoot-like creature' walking by waterfall in Indonesia
It’s claimed that this footage could show the mysterious creature known as Bigfoot - despite it being taken in Asia.
Sightings of the beast usually come from North America, but this lasted video was shot in Indonesia.
The ‘Sasquatch’ can be seen roaming through the countryside against a back drop of exotic mountains.
The version of the video takes the 28-second clip and runs through it several times at different speeds.

DOES INDONESIA HAVE BIGFOOT?

The description attached to the video stresses that Bigfoot is mostly a North American phenomenon. This is true, but mysterious hairy bipeds are not uncommon to Indonesia. Indonesia has had many sightings of shorter hairy bipeds known as Orang Pendek. Cliff Barackman has worked with Adam Davies to study these alternate bipeds for several years. On Cliff's Website, you can find tons of info about the Orang Pendek including About The Orang Pendek, Orang Footprint Data, and even some possible vocalizations.

Missing for 75 Years, First Nation Sasquatch Mask Returns Home

A Sasq'ets mask, commonly know as sasquatch (photo: Cliff Barackman)

"Much of the [premier] episode was filmed on the historic Sts' Ailes First Nations Reserve in British Columbia. While there, I was allowed access to the traditional sasquatch mask that had been "lost" for 75 years..." --Cliff Barackman

Around May of 2014 the Canadian Press syndicated a story about a mask that was lost for 75 years. In the article it described a James Leon's 16-year journey to recover the Sasq'ets mask. The way he finally re-discovered the lost artifact was serendipitous.
Leon was at a repatriation event for another First Nations artifact held by the Vancouver Museum when he asked the lady sitting beside him if she knew of the ape-like mask partially covered in bear fur.

"Her eyes lit up and she said 'We were just looking at that mask the other day.' And they were gracious enough to go get it for me," he said with a chuckle.

The mask disappeared in 1939 from Sts'ailes First Nation, near Harrison Hot Springs in B.C.'s Fraser Valley.

Community elders told Leon that the mask had been taken by J.W. Burns, a teacher at the Chehalis Indian Day School, and a man obsessed with the sasquatch legend.

Burns, who is often credited for bringing the word "sasquatch" into common use, donated the mask to the Vancouver Museum.
Cliff Barackman posted on his Facebook page that the Season 9 premier episode of Finding Bigfoot will take him to the Sts' Ailes First Nations Reserve in British Columbia.

Photo from 1938 Sasquatch Days Festival

Although the First Nation people refer to the mask as sasquatch, some skeptics think we should be more cautious how we reference these artifacts. Sharon Hill of Doubtful News writes, "The article makes a connection to Sasquatch as described by indigenous people but I’m not clear how solid that connection is. How do we know that the mask represents the same entity that we now refer to as “sasquatch” or Bigfoot? Or are we jumping to conclusions?"

She ends the article with a warning, "It’s a potential hazard to jump to conclusions and call this a representation of Sasquatch."

It is not clear if the warning is for the readers or the aboriginals who actually refer to the mask as a representation of sasquatch. In fact, in the article itself, a representative of the Sts' Ailes people makes a direct reference to sasquatch.
"We do burning for the sasquatch. It's our belief that his primary role is to ensure that the land is being taken care of. Because everyone of us, as Sts'ailes people, we carry an ancestral name, a rich name from the land."

Finding Bigfoot Premieres Ninth Season JAN 3 2016

Get Ready to Believe
The Finding Bigfoot teams for a brand new season of 'squatch hunting in a two-hour premiere, Sunday, Jan. 3 at 9/8c!

Animal planet is alreading promoting the next season of Finding Bigfoot with a video titled Get Ready to Believe. Watch the video below as well as the press release with details of the next season's episodes.

THE SEARCH RESUMES AS “FINDING BIGFOOT” RETURNS TO ANIMAL PLANET FOR AN ALL-NEW SEASON BEGINNING JANUARY 3rd

Season Premiere Determines Which is the Better Habitat for Bigfoot: The American or Canadian Bush?

(Silver Spring, Md.) -The natural world is full of discoveries to be made and truths to be uncovered. However, there is one legendary animal mystery that sparks passion unlike any other: the existence of Bigfoot. Animal Planet’s intrepid FINDING BIGFOOT team travels to the corners of the globe in hopes to, once and for all, prove that the elusive bigfoot (aka sasquatch) is out there.

The new season of FINDING BIGFOOT premieres Sunday, January 3, from 9-11 PM (ET/PT), as Animal Planet’s curious crypto-zoological team sets foot in new locations with modern technologies to progress the search. And in the two-hour premiere, Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James “Bobo” Fay and Cliff Barackman and field biologist Ranae Holland split up to determine the better sasquatch habitat: the American or Canadian wilderness. While the countries share a border, they boast different landscapes, so Cliff and Matt investigate the Canadian bush while Bobo and Ranae scour their home turf for evidence.

This season, the team investigates the following states:

· Maine, Sunday, January 10, at 10 PM: A cornucopia of bigfoot artifacts exists in the Pine Tree State, so the team takes its first trip to Maine and heads deep into the woods to learn more within this east-coast squatching haven.

· New Hampshire, Sunday, January 17, at 10 PM: In picturesque Mount Washington, concerned resort owners reach out to the team with a slew of reported sasquatch sightings gathered throughout many years.

· Georgia, Sunday, January 24, at 10 PM: Military bases are some of the country’s most protected and secluded areas. In a top-secret sasquatch investigation, the team goes into full stealth mode and utilize tips from military members to investigate forests just off base.

· Oregon, Sunday, January 31, at 10 PM: The team has been to Cliff’s home state before, but they never have explored beyond Cliff’s usual spots. The team takes a helicopter trip deep into the Oregon wilderness to one of the most remote locations in the show’s history. And, for the first time, the team employs drones with infrared cameras.

FINDING BIGFOOT is produced for Animal Planet by Ping Pong Productions. Brad Kuhlman and Casey Brumels are executive producers for Ping Pong Productions. Keith Hoffman is executive producer and Sarah Russell is producer for Animal Planet.

Cliff Barackman Explains Why There is More Than One Bigfoot to ABC News Affiliate

ABC News affiliate KRCR from Redding, CA interviews Cliff Barackman

"They are a normal biological species of hominoids, of some sort. So, there have to be more than one." --Cliff Barackman; Finding Bigfoot host

It easy to forget, even after almost a decade of explaining to laypeople about bigfoot, that some people think that bigfoot is a singular entity. Sure, it would explain why the big guy (girl) is so elusive, but most of us think that bigfoot is a biological mammal that would require a breeding population to exist.

Even more recent, Dr. Jeff Meldrum felt compelled to make the point that there are several bigfoots out there. In The Bengal Dr. Meldrum expressed as much:
When asked what he thought a Sasquatch was, Meldrum said, “One important thing to stress is that it’s not just one individual creature, because then you would have a monster if it was a single, lone being.

Finding Bigfoot Returns with a 2-Hour Alaskan Special:In Search of a 12ft Sasquatch

Finding Bigfoot returns this November with 8 new episodes

On Sunday, November 9, at 9 PM (ET/PT), FINDING BIGFOOT returns with a special two-hour episode that takes Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) president Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman and skeptical scientist Ranae Holland off to the wilds of Alaska. Reports of colossal-sized sasquatches draw the team into a vast wilderness in America's largest state. Eyewitnesses claim to have seen a bigfoot taller than 12 feet, one of the largest reported sasquatch ever.

Other destinations in the action-packed season include the following:

United Kingdom: Recent reports of bigfoot sightings in the British Isles draw the team to the UK for the first time, and they can't resist checking out another of the world's enigmas, Loch Ness. In between tracking bigfoots, the team heads to the highlands of Scotland to see if it can uncover the truth about 'Nessie.'

New Jersey: The team heads back to the Garden State to investigate "Big Red Eye," a nickname for sasquatches in New Jersey. Many are surprised by the large amount of sasquatch activity that occurs in this Mid-Atlantic state, and this time, they have a secret weapon: bigfoot enthusiast and legendary comedian Bobcat Goldthwait (Police Academy Franchise, Scrooged). The team hopes that Bobcat's iconic yell can help attract "Big Red Eye."

Tennessee: This southern state has a rich history of sasquatch sightings and government officials who are bigfoot believers. So it's no surprise that the team from FINDING BIGFOOT heads to this state to attempt to set a record for most people participating in a search for sasquatch. With a huge turnout expected, can the added manpower help the team close in on the elusive creature?
Additionally, the team returns to Idaho, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Ohio.

FINDING BIGFOOT is produced for Animal Planet by Ping Pong Productions. Keith Hoffman is the executive producer, and Hilary Tholen is associate producer for Animal Planet. Brad Kuhlman and Casey Brumels are the executive producers, and Chad Hammel is the co-executive producer for Ping Pong Productions.

Cliff Barackman Gets Nailed

Headline and pic of Cliff  Barackman NAILED article

"Cliff is pointedly generous with his expertise, and believes with fervent and infectious certainty that “Bigfoots” are roaming the backwoods of the U.S. while remaining cleverly–and even playfully–out of sight." --Nailed Magazine

Nailed Magazine is self-described as "arts and culture magazine that features candid writing, essays, art, poetry, fiction, comics, interviews, letters, photography, and more. NAILED was founded on five defining adjectives that we constantly strive to reflect in the content that we publish: artful, passionate, raw/honest, challenging, and intelligent."

A quick browse through a sample of articles confirms they uphold the five defining adjectives in all that they do. The article on Cliff Barackman from Animal Planet's Finding Bigfoot is no exception.

The article begins as it should, introducing the readers to Cliff Barackman and then there is a point where Cliff introduces the author to the best physical evidence we have. Bigfoot prints in the form of cast. A light bulb moment happens and the author writes about the revelation.
"Before we left for a drive, Cliff showed me casts from between the late 1960s and early 1980s, collected from separate locations, that appear to be of the same feet, including identifying scars and toe-spacing. My belief is that these were either the result of the most elaborate, long-running hoax in history, which would likely require a silicon-type replica complete with working robotic toes and massive weight behind it for the deep impressions, or else they were authentic. As curious as I am in the possibility of the existence of Sasquatch, I have always tried to approach the unknown with skepticism; however, I personally couldn’t conceive of any other explanation than that somehow, something akin to Bigfoot does indeed exist. I decided in those moments to view the casts not as anecdotal conversation pieces, but as evidence."
Cliff shares more than footprints, but also handprints. and the Author becomes even more intrigued,

"I examined a knuckle imprint cast taken on June 1982 near Walla Walla, Washington, which includes a clear thumbnail impression. On his North American Bigfoot blog, Cliff explains, “The positioning of this thumbnail gives some insight into the thumb of a Sasquatch. It seems that the thumb is rotated outwards towards the other fingers. This makes the thumb close inwards towards the palm, like the other digits. This has been noted in eyewitness accounts. The thumbs are described as curling around objects in the same direction as the other fingers.” Generally speaking, on certain levels this comports biologically with the anatomy of some apes, yet remains uniquely Sasquatchian. I found myself in genuine awe of the evidence gathered before me, and how consistent and insightful a picture they painted of a mystery unraveling."

Joseph Blair writes with an open mind with  healthy skepticism. You will definitely want to read the rest of the article as they go out to the woods together. Read the whole adventure between Cliff Barackman and Joseph Blair in the Nailed Magazine article titled, "CASTING TRACKS: CLIFF BARACKMAN AND SASQUATCH CULTURE"

Matt Moneymaker Stirs Up the Twittersphere with His Bigfoot Bioluminescence

Matt Moneymaker with my nephew
Before I begin, I think it is important that I cover all the caveats. I like Matt Moneymaker, my nephew really wanted to meet him while he was at the filming site of a Finding Bigfoot episode. During all the chaos of producers, lighting checks, sound checks and other fans, Matt Moneymaker gave his undivided attention and time to my nephew. He didn't jump back in to the fray of TV making until he had a good chat with him. I also think it easy to take for granted the contributions Matt Moneymaker has made to Sasquatch field research.

This doesn't change that his larger than life personality makes for an easy target in the twitterverse. And, of course it doesn't mean I have to agree with every theory he has. Cue the video.

Read some of the choice twitter reactions, including ones from Cliff Barackman, Ranae Holland and James Bobo Fay below.

Most of us know eye-shine and bioluminescence are two different things. We have a great explanation for bigfoot eye-shine, or at least how eye-shine works for most mammals (spoiler alert: Its caused by the tapetum lucidum). Bioluminescence, as Animal Planet clearly pointed out in the above tweet is usually reserved for deep water creatures and some fungi.

What do you think about Bigfoot eyeshine? Or Matt's theory? Please leave some comments below.

Tonight on Bigfoot Bounty Stacy Brown Shows How The Real Boys Do It

10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty contestant, Stacy Brown, trying to set up a shot
"This is the problem, why you can't hunt with dumb-asses in the woods. They talk too god-damned much." --Stacy Brown referring to his competitors Matt and Julie

Tonight's episode of 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty challenges the contestants to get Bigfoot footage. The teams to watch tonight will be The Sasquatch Hunters (Stacy and Dave) and Matt and Julie. Both teams should be positioned well due to their respective experience and talents. In fact, we will tell you why.

First The Sasquatch Hunters, Stacy and Dave, already have decent Bigfoot footage. Its aptly named the Brown Footage. In May of 2012 Stacy Brown Sr. and Jr. set up camp in the panhandle of Florida around the town of Quincy.

Still frame of Brown footage courtesy of CliffBarackman.com
Above is a still frame from the thermal video of the Brown footage. Cliff Barackman of Finding Bigfoot investigated the video, site and witnesses and had this to say:
"While the results of my calculations are only approximations of the creature’s size, it is clear that the figure is very large.  It seems to stand somewhere around 8.5 feet tall, and have a shoulder width of about 4 feet.  The creature is simply too big to be a human, and the steps are ridiculously long."
So for the Sasquatch Hunters, Stacy and Dave, this is old hat. I wouldn't count out Matt and Julie. Filming big animals in the wild is Matt's day job. His resume is impressive if you read Matt and Julie's bio on Spike Tv's 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty Website.
Matt Carman works as a cinematographer for a top hunting and safari show. Carman is a seasoned pro and has hunted just about everything, including: bears, elk, buffalo, hippos, zebras and rhinos. Carman also claims to have super vision and, with his naked eye, can see a deer move from two miles away. He knows what to look for in remote locations and has been upwards of 500 miles out in the woods.
Watch the clip below as the two teams that seem best positioned for this challenge cross paths.

The 10 Million Bigfoot Bounty features multiple teams competing to unearth real evidence of Bigfoot’s existence. You can catch it on Spike TV at 10/9 Central.

What did you think of the second episode? Was it better or worse than the premier? Let us know in the comments below.

Finding Bigfoot's Cliff Barackman is Interviewed by CBS Atlanta

CBS Affiliate in Atlanta interviews Cliff Barackman
Cliff Barackman does it again. With each new interview he continues to be the representative of a pragmatic approach to bigfooting. He must on a mini media tour via satellite. Earlier today, Cliff was interviewed by an Indiana news station.

Below is the companion story, info on the upcoming Bigfoot conference to be held in Dahlonega, and the video interview with Cliff Barackman.

ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
Stories have been passed down for generations about the hairy ape-like creature known as Bigfoot.

MORE

  • Bigfoot conference to be held in Dahlonega

The city of Dahlonega is holding the Southeast's first-ever Bigfoot conference.
Believers or skeptics can attend the event on Jan. 12 and 13 at the R Ranch.
  • Blogs about Bigfoot sightings and photos of footprints have spread across the internet like wildfire.
The mystery of the larger-than-life creature is so popular that Animal Planet is kicking off another new season of Finding Bigfoot.
The series investigates evidence that may prove the existence of the elusive creature.
This season, investigations take the team farther across the globe and further into Sasquatch history than they've ever traveled.
CBS Atlanta's Jennifer Banks spoke to Bigfoot researcher Cliff Barackman who is a star on the show.
Barackman said he has always been fascinated with the subject of Bigfoot.
The researcher said he believes that Bigfoot is an actual species.
If you think Barackman is crazy, he doesn't care.
He said the evidence speaks for itself and data suggests Bigfoot is a North American primate.
If you want to search for a Bigfoot for yourself, Barackman suggests you head to a natural preserve or state park.
You will need to research if there have been sightings around your area.
"Look for food, water and cover," said Barackman.
You also want to look for a concentration of animals because, wherever that happens, there is more likelihood that a Bigfoot might wander through that area once in a while.
If you want to learn more about Bigfoot, on Jan. 12 and 13 the city of Dahlonega is holding the Southeast's first Bigfoot conference.
The Midnight Walkers Southeastern Bigfoot Conference will feature an interdisciplinary panel of speakers who will address Bigfoot language, field research and other topics.

Finding Bigfoot's Cliff Barackman Interviewed by Indiana News Station

Finding Bigfoot's Cliff Barackman Interviewed by Indiana's WISHTV news

In a five minute live interview Cliff Barackman answers questions to Indiana's WISHTV. He seems to be in  location in Texas. You can watch the video after the companion article below.

    Finding Bigfoot
Updated: Thursday, 10 Jan 2013, 2:49 PM EST
    Published : Thursday, 10 Jan 2013, 2:49 PM EST

It was in college that Cliff's curiosity in Bigfoot moved from a quirky interest to an obsession. Having a sizable break between classes, Cliff started spending time in the college library reading books on his various interests. After researching Bigfoot, he realized that not only was Bigfoot interesting, but it might actually be a real, biological creature.

The Team of Bigfoot Researchers expands its search in North America and beyond to investigate the sasquatch phenomenon known as "yowies" in Australia and the "orang-pendek" of Indonesia.

Legends of bigfoot-type primates persist in cultures all over the globe. So the bigfoot team attempts to campture proof of these elusive Australian and Indonesian creatures by immersing itself in local yowie and orang-pendek culture and lore and using that information in their investigations. With the knowledge of the locals and their own experiences researching sasquatches, the team is hot on the trail to locate these distant cousins of the North American bigfoot in the remote terrain and jungles of these far-off lands.

Countdown Top 12 Googled Bigfoot Personalities of 2012

Searching for Bigfoot can go beyond the Big Guy. Some personalities get searched as well.
As a statistical analyst I should preface that these results are the top Googled names that found Bigfoot Lunch Club, otherwise Jane Goodall would top the list with 2 million global searches annually. That is what makes this countdown so informative, we are basically filtering these names by interest in Bigfoot.

There is a slight bias towards coverage as well. So don't be surprised if you don't see names associated with Bigfoots in freezers, Florida cab drivers, or those that have caught a Bigfoot named daisy. There is one exception; Todd Standing. I don't think there is a better resource for Todd Standing than Bigfoot Lunch Club. With all that said, we introduce to you Bigfoot Lunch Club's 2012 countdown of the  top 12 Googled names!

NO. 12 Justin Smeja | The Bigfoot Killer

Justin Smeja claimed to have killed two Bigfoot in October 2010. According Mr. Smeja, 5 weeks later he returned to the scene with bloodhounds and collected a piece of flesh, known by some as "the Bigfoot steak."

In his own words, "Me and my buddy drove into a clearing shielded by trees, so it was much like a blind corner for any game that would be feeding in the meadow, and we saw a strange looking creature. I shot it and 2 others juveniles came out of the thicket. They all ran off and we went after them on foot and eventually I shot another one. We hid the small one and i couldn't find the other. We left immediately after."

Since then, He has passed a lie detector test and the piece of flesh has been tested for DNA by Melba Ketchum (results still pending). More recently the flesh was sent to Trent University in canada and the results came back as a female black bear. Click the following link for the entire coverage of Justin Smeja.

NO. 11 Cliff Barackman | The Cast Nerd

Trackways, prints and casts are probably the best physical evidence we have about Bigfoot. They tell us more about morphology and behavior than DNA currently can.

If you get a chance check out his research on the London Trackway casts. You can also read our complete coverage of Cliff Barackman.

Bobo says that he saw his first Sasquatch while on an investigation with veteran Bigfoot researcher John Freitas in 2001. Since his initial sighting, Bobo claims to have glimpsed Bigfoots on a few other occasions, but it was this first visual sighting that moved him the most.

His close relationship with the community in which he lives helps him keep his "ear to the ground," and he collects dozens of local Bigfoot sighting reports each year

Ranae Holland almost tops the chart coming in at #2. Though Ranae is not a member of the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) and does not believe in Bigfoot, she is fascinated by the phenomenon, and is excited to have found a way to combine her scientific knowledge, fieldwork skills, and love of the wilderness to investigate alleged sightings.

NO. 1 Todd Standing | Oh Canada

Todd Standing tops the list because we have covered him so extensively. He started off strong this year mostly due to the Finding Bigfoot episode, by then we already had quite a history covering him.

Initially we were impressed with his triangulation methodology and his theory about "day watchers," Sasquatches that served as diurnal sentinels while the rest opf the clan slept.

The man even made some progress getting Canadian legislation to recognize and preserve the Sasquatch.

Unfortunately things began to unravel when Todd Standing shared some up-close photos of Sasquatch that looked more like a Muppet than Bigfoot. Another point of contention was the name of the area he was doing research in called "Sylvanic." He claimed it was named by the first nations people but upon further research Sylvanic derives from the latin Sylvan meaning: One that lives in or frequents the woods.
