Encounter at Sasquatch Lake 50 Years Ago

A Canadian twice-weekly paper shares a few Sasquatch stories around the area of Six Mile Lakes. An encounter, which headlined all local West Kootenay’s Papers five decades ago, led to the renaming of one of the lakes; Sasquatch lake.

The Six Mile Lakes are located in British Columbia, Canada, just Southwest of Kokanee Glacier Provincial Park.

Recalling the incident himself, John Bringsli, says it happened around 8 a.m. during a solo huckleberry picking expedition at the head of Lemon Creek...

“I had just stopped my 1931 coupe on a deserted logging road... and walked about 100 yards into the bush,” he recalled at the time. “I had just started to pick berries and was moving slowly through the bush. I had only been there about 15 minutes.

“For no particular reason, I glanced up and that’s when I saw this great beast. It was standing about 50 feet away on a slight rise in the ground, staring at me.”

The sight of the creature “paralyzed” him. He described it as seven to nine feet tall, with long legs and short, powerful arms. Its body was covered with hair.

“The first thing I thought was... what a strange looking bear. It had very wide shoulders and a flat face with ears flat against the side of its head. It looked more like a big hairy ape... [M]ost astonishing was that it had hands, not claws.”

Its hair, he said, was bluish-grey.

“It had no neck. Its ape-like head appeared to be fastened directly to its wide shoulders.”

Bringsli, 57, stood gawking at the creature for two minutes, and then it began to shuffle toward him. At that point, he hurled his pail into the bush, sprinted the 100 yards to his car, and sped home.

Idaho State U: In Search of Bigfoot

The Bengal, self defined independent voice for the Idaho State University community has posted a interesting article about Dr. Jeff Meldrum. Dr. Meldrum is an Associate Professor of Anatomy and Anthropology in the biology department at Idaho State University.

The article reveals Dr. Meldrum's unique perspective when it comes to analyzing footprints based on his research on early hominids.

Meldrum also said the case of Sasquatch is particularly interesting to him because his background is in the evolution of human locomotion.
He said, "The proposition of another biped – perhaps an early hominid or an ape – that had evolved the same bipedal adaptation as humans is an intriguing question.

"I was already familiar with footprint evidence for early humans walking, so I recognized features and possibilities attributed to Sasquatch.

"I thought I could make a significant contribution to the resolution to this issue from the perspective of systematic evaluation of footprint evidence because I'm very familiar with that type of data.

"So I started collecting as many examples of the footprints as I could."
Meldrum said his collection currently has over 200 footprint casts and they are working with the Idaho Virtualization Laboratory to create 3D models so other researchers will have access to them.

The article continues with Meldrum's Journeys to China.

Colorado Sasquatch Research

Ever wonder how they search for Sasquatch in Colorado? Apparently, you can take the researcher out of the field, but not the field out of research. Sorry we don't know what that means--our point is no matter where you have Bigfoot researchers, you have some standard techniques used to do field research. Researchers love their techniques and their technology.

These guys at UFOnut.com are no different. They are unapologetically on the paranormal bent when it comes to Bigfoot, they also research UFO's and believe that Bigfoot is part of the same phenomena.

What our team likes is how they describe their tools. Not only do they describe which tools were replaced, they also share which tools they hope to acquire. Its like a 13th-century troubadour singing about past loves.

"I love this camera. It’s my Moultrie Infra Red Game camera. Able to shoot multiple pictures or video, it works like a charm."

"I had two other night vision cameras both Sony Hi8′s. Sony is my choice of camera because out of all the cameras I’ve used through all my investigative years, I’ve gotten the best results with them."

This camera is a wireless security camera attached to a tripod. This was our “real-time” eyes keeping watch on some “treats” left by the witness for our visitor.

The author, Zukowski, leaves nothing out, the who, what, why and where is entirely there for you to read. And every word is worth it, its almost the kind of conversation you hear when a man thinks out loud to himself.

The only thing we find odd is they never mention Bigfoot Lunch Clubs very own 3x25 zoom cardboard Binocs. Two years old and still in use (when its not raining).
