London Trackway: Over 120 Sequential Sasquatch Prints Found

One of the first measurements taken by Toby Johnson 15-16 inch print
South of Eugene, over 120 footprint tracks were found in a clay-mixed substrate that was a perfect material to capture and record footprints. We believe the tracks were made as recently as Saturday February 11th, although the first few prints were not discovered until Sunday the 12th.

Quick run down of events.
  • (SUN Feb 12th) Max is a retired man who once worked in the auto industry and now spends his retirement restoring cars, he happened to be looking for cars in the London, Oregon when he is approached by a man walking his dog.
  • (SUN Feb 12th) The man walking his dog mentions to Max there are three Bigfoot prints near the tree line. Max checks it out and is surprised to see the three good tracks
  • (MON Feb 13th)  Max can't sleep, has to go back to  site to take pictures.
  • (TUE Feb 14th)  Max remembers Toby Johnson's Sasquatch-mobile, it had been decorated with large Bigfoot stickers resembling footprints. He had also recalled reading an newspaper article of the first Oregon Sasquatch Symposium Toby had held in 2010 at Lane Community College in Eugene. The Sasquatch-mobile is now owned by Toby's ex-wife, sans stickers, but Max, the car afficianado that he is, recognizes the vehicle non-the-less. So when Max went share the Bigfoot prints he contacted Toby's ex-wife first. Max gives his contact info to Toby's Ex
  • (TUE Feb 14th)  Toby calls Max and max sends the pics of the three prints via phone.
  • (WED Feb 14th 8:00pm ~ THURS  Feb 15th 7:00am) Toby goes to the site with his friend, an avid hunter and a local. Since Toby's friend wishes to remain anonymous, we will call him Tracker. Both Toby and Tracker see the original three and few others that were not photographed, these other tracks were in heavy vegetation.
  • (THURS  Feb 15th afternoon) Toby goes home and Tracker ges home. Toby tries to return to site later in afternoon, due to obligations he can not stay long, as he leaves Tracker returns. Tracker is with his daughter's boyfriend, and continues to follow the tracks on his own time. Tracker follows the tracks out of the vegetation into a clay-like substrate and realizes there are at least a hundred prints. He calls Toby.
  • (THURS  Feb 15th 3pm-ish) Toby calls Cliff Barackman, co-host of Finding Bigfoot and a self-described "track/cast-nerd". Cliff drives 2 hours to investigate the scene. Cliff also contacts Chris Minniear who picked up most of the casting material, did about half of the 65 cast made. Chris also documented the evenings events on video.
  • (FRI Feb 16th 6pm) I am able to get a ride with Thom Powell, we meet Beth Heikkinen and Toby Johsnson and see the tracks ourselves.
  • (SAT Feb 17th 6am) Our original count was around 118 sequential prints. Cliff Barackman was able to count 122, we will confirm if his count are the sequential set or total prints in the area.We made two set of measurements recording step length stride length.
Step length is the distance between the point of initial contact of one foot and the point of initial contact of the opposite foot. In normal gait, right and left step lengths are similar.
Stride length is the distance between successive points of initial contact of the same foot. Right and left stride lengths are normally equal.
Below is a rough illustrated diagram of the the general path and the measurements we took. Knowing how difficult it is to get exact measurements, I added a third column titled Calculated Stride Length to compare against the Measured Stride Lengths. The numbers in the calculated column are based on the recorded step length. the numbers I am interested in are the average and means.
The mean is the usual average,
so in Series A: Step Length average is 47.29:
(45 + 48 + 46 + 45 + 46 + 54+ 47) ÷7 = 47.29
The median is the middle value, so I'll have to rewrite the list in order
so in Series A: Step Length median is 46:
45, 45, 46, 46, 47, 48, 54
As you can see in the two sets, Series A and Series B, there average numbers and the means for the step and stride are relatively close.

  2. wow! I live in the Eugene area. Where is London anyways, lol, near Cottage Grove?

  3. I can't find London, OR on any map. Maybe it's a misprint? There's Latham, Leona, and Lowell in the area, but that's the closest I could come up with. I lived in that area from 1994 to 95. Very exciting stuff! Thanks for the report!

  7. No clear photos? Numerous visits, over a hundred prints, and only this one obviously fake photo? Or have you published more? A find like this, and you don't contact, say, a real animal expert? U of O is only 30 minutes away.

BS, just like all the other bigfoot stories.

  10. i was told by a friend of mine that lives in London that there are trail cam pictures of two bigfoots and i noticed that in this story there was no mention of that. The beginning of the story was told to me a little different too. I myself am a believer and have seen a bigfoot myself, but it seems to me like there is a slight cover up of how the tracks were actually discoverre, i think to hide the fact that there are trail cam pictures of it. We would all like to see the trail cam pictures.

    1. We had heard of London, Oregon trailcam pictures too. We saw one and did not think it was very compelling. When we asked if we could share the London, Oregon trailcam pictures with our readers, the one who had possession of the trailcam said, "no". Notice we said the one who had possession, not the owner of the photo.

We feel any evidence should be shared, and decided not to pursue this witness any further. It is a waste of time to have evidence and not share it with the rest of the world to review it. I can tell you Cliff Barackman and Thom Powell did not feel the London, Oregon trailcam picture was compelling either.

      Thank you for the comment.

  11. I wonder what Squatch was doing at CGR. A little fishing,a little beach time, a bath, maybe Squatch likes Mercury flavored water. I thought Squatch was a little to skitish to hang out at CGR. That area has been heavily logged basically all of it. Maybe Squatch likes reforestation. Seems like Squatch would stay in a little more wilderness like area. There are cougar in the area. Bears too. Deer and elk also. We know this because they have been seen and harvested. But not Squatch to smart. Thats why he is hanging out at CGR. He must be a thrill seeker a risk taker.

  12. Omnivores go where the food is and bears are omnivores. If you see bears in an area, then you are likely to see Skookum.

People claim the Cottage Grove Lake watershed was contaminated by mercury amalgamation used in gold mining in the Dorena Lake area, but the ground water contains mercury from cinnabar ore in the ground of a good share of the Willamette Valley.

    1. Yes sir,I've heard that before about the cinnabar ore.I've spent alot of time on the lake.My twenty year old son caught his first trout on the lake he was four it was in the winter. We fished the lake together this winter and caught trout it was great. Its a great lake.Have spent countless hours bass fishing the lake.Have also done some some dredgeing up on Sharps Creek fifteen years ago or so.Its a great area.

  13. Man. Some of those prints are crazy looking! Crazy as in believable. I've been intrigued with Bigfoot since Elementary School. Read books, watched the shows and all. I use to live out in Oregon. Portland, OR that is. Sure I wasn't going to see Bigfoot walking in down town Portland, but just living in OR was good enough. I moved back to MT and there are no Bigfoot activity out here. At least I don't think there is.

  14. I'm really excited and heres why. With the planting of giant Canadian wolves being released in the west there is a good possibilty a pack of these wolves will take down a Sqwatch and someone will find the kill site and finally we will have a Sqwatch bone sample maybe more to prove they exist.

    1. I did not know you were going to go there. Where can we learn more about the release of these wolves?

    4. I have never seen wolves in Oregon. They were all killed off decades ago. I suspect you can get federal money if they kill cattle, but if you kill a wolf, the least you may get is a big fine and a suspended sentence for poaching.

  15. Just wondering...Squatch believers must be pretty religious.I mean God the bible....bigfoot the tracks.

    1. I am not sure about your problem with being "religious." That sounds bigoted.

However, there are "True Believers," "Hunters," and "Investigators" within this community. Some want to believe in something bigger than themselves. Some want a trophy. Some want to satisfy their curiosity. Some are just motivated to be part of a community and it helps if it includes the outdoor life.

  16. I'm pretty sure Oregon has already doled out most of the allotted funds for ranchers who have suffered from recent stock killings by wolves here in Oregon.82,000 DOLLARS. Divided among Eastern Oregon counties for livestock preditation and for prevention.Money is coming from the department of agriculture. Tax dollars I guess.Thirteen thousand has been paid for actual livestock killed by wolves in Oregon.I wonder why the Dept of Agriculture hasnt invested any funds for Bigfoot....because they dont exist. Most of your bigfoot believers are tree huggers just like the people who think this wolf thing is going to work out. What the wolf thing will do is wipe out our Elk herds and kill the economy for several communities that rely on hunters to spend money in there communities for fuel food and other supplies. Not to mention the lost revenue for the state when people stop buying hunting licenses because the elk herds are decimated by wolves. One good thing about old Squatch you dont hear about any damage from them.No tree damage no preditation damage i've never even heard of one being hit by a car or truck.Never herard of one killing livestock never heard of them getting in alfalfa...never heard of them destroying anything....wonder why.

    1. The Skookum blame it on the wolves. I am not sure how 29 wolves can do $82,000 in damages. That would be about 16,000 to 18,000 pounds of meat.

The elk herds are not "decimated by wolves." There are about 124,000 elk in Oregon. That would mean 12,400 elk would have been killed by 29 wolves.

Let's keep these posts somewhat realistic.

    2. One thing that doesn't lie is the Patterson video. Hard to fake something that scientists say can't be faked. What do you do with that wolf hugger? Funny thing is that most of the Squatch stories I've heard came from hunters and loggers, not tree huggers.

      Delete
    3. John- good point. 29 wolves kill every elk in the state, right.... Not to mention the wolves are part of a monitored experiment. People just like to kill things, especially apex predators. They think it makes them a man to kill a predator, even though the meat is worthless and they only want a pelt. I am not a "tree hugger" and I don't have a problem with hunting. I do have a problem wanting to kill animals strictly for the thrill of killing things. I think that if that is your game, then you have some very serious issues and are probably a very violent and disturbed psychotic individual. I have known poachers, and they are the worst kind of person. They would have no probably beating their wife, killing a puppy, or mating with a cousin. Poachers are also the most dangerous animal in the forest. A poacher shot my cousin and his friend while they were hunting in the cascades, and both of them were wearing hunter's orange (both recovered-bullet passed through my cousin and landing in his friend,30-06 a fast round). The penalty for poaching is light and ineffective. And then you have people who think that 29 wolves could make some kind dent in a population of elk that enters the 100,000+ category. Even the farmers have nothing to fear since they will be compensated for their losses if any. They other aspect of this program is that they are trying to teach the wolves to stay away from cattle and only hunt elk. Washington has run a similar program with some success.

  18. I'm not surprised. I grew up about five miles north of Dorena Reservoir near Cougar Mountain. We had two dogs that were considered outdoor dogs. We often had troubles with them chasing deer and occasionally they would tree a bear. Approximately five times during the fifteen years of living near Cougar Mountain, the two dogs would become completely terrified and hide under the couch or bed and shake and howl, and they wouldn't come out for hours. This would always happen at night. Dad always said there was probably a bear nearby out in the woods, but I never believed him because both dogs had treed bears in the past. I believe it was a sasquatch. I have since heard other stories about dogs becoming terrified when bigfoot is hanging about.

  19. Does anyone know of a website in Ohio to report Sasquatch activity? I have been close to sasquatch's twice. Within 20 feet in 1988, and within 10 in 2006. I have always lived in the sasquatch triangles northern tip - southern part of Tusc. county. I heard calls early today (12:10 am) and would like to give any active hunters/researchers the info. The calls were similar to elk but very deep in pitch - no fluctuation in the tone, steady and long duration. they sounded somewhat "tinny", not natural - like maybe from a speaker. Was some researcher blasting recorded calls last night in the area of the Dover-Zoar Road between Dover and Zoar and SR 39? This was like classic text book perfect vocalizations.

    1. Your absolutely correct. The problem is none of us were smart enough to take those measurements except for Joe Beelart. I can try and get that data from him, if you like. Although more anecdotal than scientific, I can tell you we tried to my imprints ourselves (2 days later) and could not achieve the same depth as these tracks.

Cliff Barackman, however has most of the casts and is doing all sorts of measurements requested by Jeff Meldrum. Cliff is currently writing a paper on the entire trackway to be published Dr. Meldrum's, "The Relict Hominoid Inquiry" soon.

    2. Cheers Guy! Thank-you kindly for the response. I, for one, would love to hear any follow-up you have on this. On the surface(no pun intended)the London trackway is of monumental importance and Barackman is a solid researcher which bodes well for this investigation. Not quite as enthusiastic about Meldrum's paper though, he just won't let go of his ape obsession. Ah well . . . Cheers!

  23. I am a believer . I believe the tracks on the lake are real . I have never seen one of these creatures but would love to . After this happened me and a friend were up williams creek hiking around . We came across a bigfoot track no doubt . I took a couple pics and we compared it to my foot . The print was way larger than my foot . It makes sense since there was one that crossed the lake and headed up in the direction of where we were hiking . We could find the same spot if we need to . It was a great experience and theres nothn else that it could of been .

  24. I believe that there are Bigfoot @skookums , too many witnesses and native American / worldwide historical accounts about them! I wish I lived in the northwest , I would love to go sqautchin. If I saw one , I would chase it down , tackle it @ put a rear neck choke hold on it and drag the beast to any of the naysayers front porch , by then skookum would recover see you at the door and well ...... you would probably have to change your pants!!!!

  25. I really think that the London Trackway will be proven a Hoax in the end. Dr. Jeff Meldrum, and now Cliff Brackman are distating themselves from these prints! It just gut feeling, I could be wrong!
